We all have our favorite things. For me it's animals and movies. I can't get enough of either. I also like my toys, the iPhone and Kindle are the most frequently used. I have a favorite pillow; a favorite set of sheets; a favorite coffee cup and so on. Animals are no different. Every pet I've been fortunate enough to share my home with has had a favorite toy. A stuffed animal that long ago should have been surrendered; a bone that has lost its chew, but they continually return to it; it brings them a certain sense of comfort. For my sweet MinPin Gwendolyn, it was here chippymunks and Freddy Otso, and she loved to burrow and snuggle under the covers. It didn't matter that we lived in 90+ degree weather in southern Florida, the hotter the better. My fluffy buddy Brandon, a beautiful Golden Retriever, he loved his rawhides and hated anything that squeaked. Bella, the resident Yorkie, her favorite is bully sticks (her mama's least favorite, those things stink to high Heaven). And now the baby, Madison, well her favorite is known affectionately as "puppy", it's a stuffed yorkie, she's had it since the day she arrived, she might quite frankly think it's her sibling. It's important for your pet to have something they cherish, something that makes them feel happy, something that is just theirs and theirs alone. I love seeing my pets happy, toting around their favorite thing. What are some of your dog's (or cats) bestest things? There can be no better way to end the day than to snuggle up with your favorite pooch with his favorite thing, on your favorite chair, doing your favorite thing!!

School is a busy time for kids, but it can be equally busy for parents. If you are a parent who struggles with a full-time job, shopping, cooking, cleaning, church, family and making sure you have enough gas in the tank (YOUR tank, not the car's) to get your kids to sporting events, the endless practice sessions, going to games and cheering them on, buying and upgrading equipment, traveling to away games, doing your part to car pool teammates...the list can be endless. So what about Buster? The beloved family dog!! Who has time to play with Buster, walk Buster, pick up Buster's poop? You're already exhausted. The kids have homework and practice and they are exhausted. So who is playing with Buster, and every other dog and cat .... I AM, your friendly neighborhood pet sitter.
People often think pet sitters are only for vacations, but I'm here to remind you that there is another whole side of things and a personal pet sitter can make your life a lot easier and it's more affordable than you think. You think it's a luxury, think again? Just as your child needs time and attention, guidance and your car pooling talents; your pet needs time to play and be walked, whether he's a free running Buster who has the run of the house, or confined to a crate, your little 4 legged friend has needs and those needs don't stop when the house is bustling with activity and the kids are back in school and busy, if anything Buster's needs remain constant. Daily check in visits typically start at around $15 per visit. Back to School Specials through September 30th. So let me take Buster for a walk, let me toss around the ball with Buster I'd love to come by and meet Buster (and your family) and see how I can help make the academic year easier on you, your kids and good ole' Buster. I love pets, cats and dogs, and I'd love to come by and play (and of course feed, water, walk, and have potty time). What is more traditional than cake on your birthday? Not much can top that, not for humans or our furry little friends. Here is a simple recipe to make your pet's tag wag at warp speed:
PUPCAKES: Total Time: 15 minutes Hands-On Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Yield: 6 cupcakes Level: Easy Ingredients •½ cup brown rice flour (or whole wheat flour or rye flour) •1 teaspoon baking powder •⅓ cup organic canola oil •⅓ cup organic applesauce •1 organic, pastured egg •2 tablespoons organic honey •3 tablespoons organic plain Greek yogurt •1½ tablespoons organic natural peanut butter (stay away from anything with Xylitol or artificial sweeteners or sugar substitutes, many are produced synthetically, and could be potentially harmful to your pet). Instructions 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2.In a mixing bowl, stir the flour, baking powder, canola oil, applesauce, egg, and honey until well combined. 3.Insert cupcake liners into a muffin or cupcake pan. Spoon mixture into cupcake liners, filling each about halfway. 4.Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean. 5.Allow cupcakes to cool to room temperature. 6.Meanwhile, in a bowl, stir yogurt and peanut butter until mixture is smooth and creamy. Use a small spatula or butter knife to smooth a thin layer of the peanut butter frosting over each cupcake. Storage: cupcakes should hold up for 4-5 days if stored in an airtight container in a cool, shaded, dry spot. Peanut butter frosting should be stored separately, covered and refrigerated. Frost cupcakes immediately before serving. You can top them with something like a dog biscuit, or a bacon flavored dog treat. AND WATCH your best friend ENJOY a delicious treat that is sure to please....!!! Make it fun and post a SELFIE with your pet and his pupcakes, you know social media loves anything that involves cute animals. |
